Renowned as England’s best-preserved medieval village and one of Suffolk’s historic wool towns, Lavenham is a dream to explore, offering some of the most picturesque streets in the country.

Bury St Edmunds

Surrounded by picturesque countryside and steeped in 1,000 years of history, Bury St Edmunds is the resting place of Saint Edmund, the original patron saint of England.

During medieval times, The Abbey of St Edmund was one of the wealthiest and most powerful Benedictine monasteries in England, drawing visitors from across Europe to St Edmund's Shrine. Although the Abbey was dissolved in 1539, the mystery of Edmund’s final resting place remains—many believe he is still buried somewhere within the Abbey precincts.

Known as Suffolk's Foodie Capital, Bury St Edmunds boasts everything from award-winning fine dining to hearty Suffolk pub classics, each offering its own unique atmosphere. Beer enthusiasts can explore the legacy of Greene King, which has been brewing here for over 200 years.

The town also offers an excellent shopping experience, blending independent boutiques with popular High Street brands. Beyond shopping, visitors can enjoy beautiful outdoor spaces and a thriving arts scene, including theatre, live music, film, and art.
